How can I get a place in the BUT dorms?

All necessary information is available on the website www.akademiki.bialystok.pl in the International Students section.

Where do I handle all formalities related to accommodation?

All formalities are handled at the Service Centre for Residents of the University Residential Campus, located in the Gamma Dormitory, 8 Zwierzyniecka St.

Can I check in outside the Service Centre for Residents of the University Residential Campus working hours?

It is possible to check in outside working hours. Each dormitory reception has resident lists and room keys. The next working day, formalities should be completed at the Centre.

What documents are needed for accommodation?

We will need data from your identification document/passport or student ID.

What amenities are available in the dormitories?

Each floor has a shared kitchen equipped with gas stoves and an oven. There is also a microwave and a large worktop for meal preparation. Each floor has a free laundry room and a drying room. Each dormitory has a bicycle room. Residents can use free internet within EDUROAM on campus and in the dormitory.

How are student rooms equipped?

Rooms have essential furniture: a couch, a wardrobe, a table, a desk, a chair, a kitchen a cabinet, a bookshelf, and a fridge.

When must I pay for a room?

 Payment should be made by the 25th of each month.

What is the deposit and who is it for?

The deposit is for all residents and is paid in the first month of accommodation as security for covering payment for arrears or possible damage. The deposit is refunded upon check-out after clearing formalities.

How can I report a fault in the room or bathroom?

All types of faults should be reported by the qr code.

What should I do if I have lost my room key?

This incident should be immediately reported to the Administration of the hall of residence or at the reception of the hall if it occurs outside the Administration’s working hours. The cost of replacing the door locks is borne by the resident who lost the key.

Can the period of accommodation be extended after graduation?

Priority for accommodation is given to students of Bialystok University of Technology. If there are available places, individuals outside the university or those who have graduated may also be accommodated.

What should I do if I want to have a friend stay over?

If you wish to have someone stay in your room, you must inform the Hall Administration and register the guest stay. The resident is materially responsible for any damage caused by their guests. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the Regulations, which detail the guest accommodation rules.

Can I keep a pet in the dormitory?

According to the Regulations, keeping pets in the dormitories is prohibited. However, in individual cases, the Manager of the Hall may issue a positive decision.

Can the room key be left at the porter’s lodge?

Each resident receives a key to their room upon moving in and is responsible for it from that moment. The decision to hand over the key is an individual one.

Can I live alone in a double room?

This is possible if there are available places. The price list includes this option.

What should I do if I have lost my resident card?

In case of losing the resident card, you should immediately report it to the Service Centre for Residents.
